About Us
Established in 1931 by Clif Calvin and Joe Traylor, our company has grown to a full service insurance agency.
Currently, CEK Insurance serves the insurance needs of about 8,000 individuals and families, and the insurance needs of 3,000 business concerns in NE Kansas and NW Missouri.
Our office includes state-of-the-art computerization and rating systems for record keeping and cost comparisons of the country's finest insurance companies.

 Joe Baker -
Joe Baker has been in the insurance industry since 1968. He joined CEK in 1976. Joe is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a Registered Representative for Symetra Investment Services Inc. He is a sales agent for commercial, personal, life and health insurance. When Joe has free time, he enjoys golfing, boating, traveling and spending time with his family.
 Al Hack -
Al Hack has been in the financial services and insurance industries since 1979 and joined CEK in 1989. He is an Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI). He is a sales agent for commercial, personal, life and health insurance. He spends his free time landscaping, boating, gardening and taking long walks with his wife Sue and their two Labrador Retrievers.
 Tracy Cullers -
Tracy Cullers has been in the insurance industry since 1985 and joined the CEK family in 2001. She handles group employee benefits including: health, dental, short term, long term disability and retirement programs. Tracy also handles individual medical products and life insurance. Tracy is a Registered Health Underwriter (RHU). When not working, she enjoys boating and spending time with her three dogs.
 Tom Karasek -
Tom Karasek started his career at CEK in 2000. Tom is a sales agent who handles personal and commercial insurance. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). He enjoys golfing, swimming, jogging and spending time with his wife and two children.
 Susan Adams -
Susan Adams is the Comptroller. She has been with CEK since 1999 owning her own business for 15 years prior to that. Susan is active in her church and enjoys crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. She also serves on the board of The O’Connell Youth Ranch.
 Frank Alexander -
Frank Alexander is a sales agent for commercial, personal, life and health insurance. He has been working in the insurance industry since 1961. Frank is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). He enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting and square dancing with his wife Betty.
 Shelby Bean -
Shelby Bean is a personal lines Customer Service Representative (CSR). She has been working in the insurance industry since 1957 and has been with CEK Insurance since 1989. Shelby is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) and an Associate in Underwriting (AU). She services personal lines accounts and handles personal lines claims. Shelby is a graduate of The University of Kansas. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her grandson.
 Clint Bradley -
Clint Bradley is a sales agent for personal, commercial, life and health insurance. Clint began his carreer at CEK insurance in 1996. He worked as Vice President of Business Development at Central National Bank for five years and is happy to be back in the insurance profession again with CEK. Clint enjoys spending time with his three boys, daughter and wife and also enjoys playing golf.
 Quentin Brinkworth -
Quentin Brinkworth is a sales agent for commercial, personal, life and health insurance. Quentin is Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and an Associated Risk Manager (ARM). He specializes in solving insurance and risk exposures for his many commercial clients. He has developed a generalized book of long term clientele with an emphasis on construction, retail and transportation. In his free time Quentin enjoys working out, reading and Kuk Sool Won.
 Mark Buhler -
Mark Buhler joined CEK as a sales agent in 2011 after extensive careers in real estate and banking in Lawrence. Mark has lived in Lawrence since 1958; he attended Lawrence Schools and is a graduate of KU. Mark has a long history of community service and has served Lawrence and Douglas County on the Planning Commission, The Douglas County Commission and the Kansas Senate. Mark and his wife Marsha have 3 grown children and enjoy traveling and outdoor activities.
 Gay Hadl -
Gay Hadl is our receptionist. She has been with CEK Insurance since 2002. She enjoys traveling with her husband and also likes gardening, sports and spending time with her animals.
 Debbie Haley -
Debbie Haley is a commercial lines Customer Service Representative (CSR). She has been working in the insurance industry since 1995. Debbie services commercial accounts for Joe Baker and Al Hack. Debbie enjoys gardening and keeping up with her twin daughters.
 Fran Hopkins -
Fran Hopkins has been working in the insurance industry since 1982. She is a sales agent for personal, commercial, life and health insurance. Fran has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA). She is also a certified aerobics instructor. In her spare time, Fran enjoys participating in the Lawrence Community Theater.
 Pat Huebner -
Pat Huebner is a commercial lines Customer Service Representative (CSR). She has been working in the insurance industry since 1996. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her daughter, gardening, sewing and chasing her 2 cats. Pat is also an avid Green Bay Packers fan!
 Marcy Lang -
Marcy Lang is an assistant Customer Service Representative (CSR). She started with CEK Insurance in 1999. She assists both the personal lines and commercial lines customer service representatives with their daily work. She also helps in the servicing of the commercial accounts. She is an in house computer specialist and is often asked to complete special projects. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her husband and friends.
 Dana Laudick -
Dana Laudick has been a licensed CSR since 1972 working primarily for independent insurance agencies. She primarily works on commercial lines and workers compensation claims. She has two grown sons and enjoys gardening and boating.
 Bonnye Little -
Bonnye Little is the commercial lines marketing executive for the agency. Bonnye started in the insurance industry in 1991 and has been with CEK Insurance in 1996. She is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). Bonnye also serves as our in house computer specialist.
 Amanda Lutz -
Amanda Lutz - Amanda started her career with CEK in August 2008 as a Personal Lines Customer Service Representative. Amanda graduated from the University of Kansas in 2002 with a degree in Communication Studies. In her free time, Amanda enjoys relaxing at home with family and friends, eating her husband's delicious cooking, and playing with her son and her English bulldog.
 Ann Stoll -
Ann Stoll is a personal lines Customer Service Representative (CSR). Ann started in the insurance industry and with CEK in 1997. She processes personal lines new business and handles customer payments. Ann enjoys being with her family, watching her son coach Lawrence High Baseball, collecting Noah’s Arks and reading. She especially enjoys the company of her grandchildren.
 Connie Warmker -
Connie Warmker is a commercial lines Customer Service Representative (CSR). She has been working in the insurance industry since 1974 has been with CEK Insurance since 1982. She is a Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). She services the commercial accounts of Joe Baker and Al Hack. Her hobbies and interests include church, crafts, sewing and spending time with her family including her 3 grandchildren and great grandchild.
 Mike Willoughby -
Mike Willoughby has been a resident of Lawrence since 1986. He also entered the insurance industry in 1986 and is a Certified Insurance Consultant (CIC). Mike spends much of his free time volunteering on community projects and coaching youth athletics.
 Marty Yost -
Marty Yost joined CEK in 2009 and services as the agency's Operations Manager. Marty began his career in the insurance industry in 2004. He holds a bachelors degree from Kansas State University in Business Finance. When not working, Marty enjoys spending time with his family, working on his lawn, gardening, spending time in the outdoors and watching his daughter's sporting events. Marty is also active in his church on the Membership Committee.

 Mark Tomes -
Mark Tomes joined the CEK family in 1987. He oversees the operations of the Gladstone office. Mark is a Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC). He sells and services commercial, personal, life and health insurance. He has been in the insurance industry since 1976. He is a past chairman and board member of the Gladstone Chamber of Commerce. He also enjoys working with the Boy Scouts of America and reading.
 Thomas (T.J.) Brennan -
Thomas (T.J.) Brennan is a sales agent for personal and commercial insurance. He started in the insurance industry and with CEK in 2005. T. J. enjoys fishing, golfing, camping and spending time with his family. He also enjoys the Kansas City Royals.
 Chris Brueck -
Chris Brueck joined CEK in 2010 as a personal & commercial insurance sales agent. Licensed in property, casualty, life & health, Chris, possesses the knowledge and ability to assist his clients in determining and solving all of their insurance needs. He is a dedicated husband and father who's hobbies include, but are not limited to, hunting, fishing, golfing and being an avid Royals and Chiefs fan.
 Joe Dold -
Joe Dold is a sales agent for commercial and personal lines insurance. He has been in the insurance industry most of his life and owned his own agency for 20 years. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC). Joe is very active in the Mid-America Games for the Disabled and is a member of the board of directors for the National Disability Sports Alliance.
 Mary Lancaster -
Mary Lancaster is a personal lines Customer Service Representative (CSR). She has been working in the insurance industry for 1993. She spends her free time with family, is active in her church and enjoys sports and outdoor activities.
 David Mecklenburg -
David Mecklenburg entered the insurance industry as a commercial lines sales agent in 1971. He is the Chair Elect of the Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and currently serves on the Kansas City Missouri Board of Parks Commissioners. Dave stays busy camping, canoeing, golfing and traveling.
 Bill O'Reilly -
Bill joined CEK in 2012. He has been in the insurance industry for many years and has earned industry designations of the CPCU, CIC and AMIM. Bill specializes in Property and Casualty Insurance and is currently working towards earning his Associates in Risk Management (ARM).
 Lorry Viar -
Lorry Viar joined CEK in 2011 as a personal lines customer service representative after spending 15 years in lending. Certified as a CSR early in her career, she is now putting her skills to use in the insurance industry. Lorry is Kansas City born and bred and loves all things about the city and its great history. Her favorite pastime is attending live music events, particularly the blues. Laughter is her best medicine.
